Harp (Worship) & Bowl (Prayer) Training Seminar - Saturday, January 14th

You are invited to attend OHOP's updated Harp (Worship) & Bowl (Intercession) Seminar on Saturday, January 14th. You will be equipped in the foundations of the Harp and Bowl model, which combines worship with intercessi...on providing a format for enjoyable prayer. This model is often associated with the ministry of the International House of Prayer - Kansas City (www.ihop.org).

You will receive role specific training and be given the opportunity to practice the model in a safe and encouraging environment. This seminar is not only for those who are interested in joining an OHOP team, but for anyone who wants to gain skills in worship and prayer regardless of the setting.

Third Anniversary!

June 10, 2011 marks the third anniversary of Oasis House of Prayer! A big heartfelt thank you and congratulations to all who have labored in love these past three years to make Oasis House of Prayer a resting place for Jesus and His Bride. Not only a resting place-but a place of transformation!

Our celebration consisted of worship, prayer, testimonies and for the first time ever baptisms. Sonja Botes and Stacey Van Til were baptized-burying their past and raising as a new creation into new life, while about eight others shared their story in a talk show fashion. Director Jen Lombardo was the host and Co-Director Angela Hayley was a host, but offered comic relief-as only she can do:). Individuals were asked to think of one word to describe the Lords work in their life during their partnership with OHOP. Words such as "Home", "Propelled", "Rescued", "Restored" and "Transformed" gripped listeners hearts as story-tellers bared their heart and soul. Everyone had such a different story but you could not argue how the hand of the Lord had brought us together and transformed lives. There was a real sense of family as hearts were vulnerable before each other.

New songs about the blood of Jesus kept filling Heaven and Earth throughout the night. Sometimes Holy Spirit emphasizes things that we just cannot get away from, even though they may not fit into the set as we think it should. Truly, as we called upon His name and sang about the power in His blood he was cleansing us and the city afresh. May we never forget or get bored singing about the blood. For it is the shed blood of Jesus and His sacrifice that has won our hearts, saving us from something horrendous (Hell) and to Someone- Jesus Christ, the only one worthy of all honor, power, glory and praise!

Overall- hearts were touched, encouraged and blessed by all the Lord has brought forth in the past three years. OHOP has much to be thankful for!

What is Oasis House of Prayer

The ministry of Oasis House of Prayer (OHOP) has a 2-fold mandate…first vertical, second horizontal.

Psalm 132:3-5 embodies the vow of the vertical ministry of Oasis – “Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house or go up to the comfort of my bed; I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, until I find a place for the Lord…a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.” OHOP is a place of habitation not just visitation for the Lord Jesus, both geographically and spiritually speaking.

Secondly, OHOP is a refueling station or a watering hole for missional intercessors and intercessory missionaries. In essence, the Oasis House of Prayer is a resting place for Jesus and His Bride.
